MOVIE REVIEW - PsYCHOmOTO DVD

pSychoMoto DVD coverartToday I received in my mailbox a white envelope lined on the inside with air bubble type packaging, and I said to myself, "What in the hell is this? I didn't order anything recently…" However, as soon as I felt what was inside, I knew what it was.

The long anticipated creation from our overseas mates at IQ18 Films, my copy of pSychMoto had finally arrived. I rushed into my room, tearing into the package like a 5 year old at Christmas to discover the precious jewel case inside. I stripped out of my monkey suit, got some shorts and a tee-shirt on, threw in the DVD into my player and pushed PLAY.

Personally, I've been looking forward to the release of pSychoMoto for some time now. The trailer, having been posted on dozens of internet forums, gave you a taste of what a true hooligan DVD is about. And like a buffet restaurant, pSychoMoto promised a smorgasbord of everything one can do on a SuperMoto bike: street thuggin', track days, stunting, and racing.

As I watched it, the first thing that caught my eye was the very professional execution of the DVD as a whole. The graphics, done very tastefully in a Matrix I sort of way, were pleasing and not overboard as to distract from the riding. Veggie Dave, the mastermind of this baby chose the right tone, feeling, and timing as any good director would do, focusing on the riding and not too much extra shenanigans often plaguing American made motorcycle DVD's. If you're into that kind of thing, you can always flip the DVD over and entertain yourself with some raw footage from the feature.

The riding… completely nucking futs. Along with a brilliant mix of good music, helmet cam POV's, and stationary cameras these talented riders are nothing but inspiring. From hooligan wheelies and stoppies to some serious race action at Mettet, Veggie Dave does one hell of a job covering all aspects of SuperMoto. Having problems with your wheelies, stoppies and burnouts? Well, pSychoMoto can help you out with that with some tips by Paul Gower. This DVD is just one of those videos that make you want to throw on your gear and go riding after watching it.

I HIGHLY recommend adding this DVD to your motorcycle video collection. The quality, music and riding is a good representation of our niche. Having been disappointed by previous SuperMoto DVD's, pSychoMoto (hopefully) sets the standard for future SuperMoto videos.

Veggie Dave and IQ18 Films have definitely raised the bar.
